Actress Rekha Thapa establishes Rekha Thapa Foundation

One of the popular actresses of Nepali Cinema Industry, Rekha Thapa has formally established a social organization under her name called Rekha Thapa Foundation. The organization was officially inaugurated at a ceremony in Kathmandu today. Organising a press meet, the foundation announced its working plan and stated that the non-profit organization will help to improve living and economic status of oppressed indigenous.

Actress Rekha Thapa had recently returned from a social call to Raute community in far-western development region. At the inaugural ceremony, she took benefaction of four children of Raute community for their rearing and education. She also donated Rs. 50,000 to the bereft family of Late Ganesh Bahadur BK of Dang, who died in Katar. Actress Thapa said that she was overwhelmed by pleasure of taking motherhood of the children.

President of Film Journalists’ Association, Bidur Giri and Chairman of Nepal Film Producers’ Association, Raj Kumar Rai also supported the instigation of actress Thapa.

The foundation aims to help the victims of Maoist insurgency and the impoverished ones. The foundation also aims to establish community hospitals, schools and campuses. Rekha Thapa finally urged everyone to join hands with her in this noble effort.
